Making Maps and Making History
In 2016 GoodLands made history as the first organization to visualize a major global religion and its people across the entire surface of the Earth. We were also the first organization to use data to visualize the global Catholic Church. Our work is born out of a calling to better understand how people relate to the world through the art and science of map making and connect this with story telling to promote global action for good, exploration, and communication. We have shown our maps in the Vatican on various occasions. The image to right shows our maps on display in Casina Pio IV, recreating a modern Galleria delle carte geografich as part of the Vatican Arts and Technology Council. Below you can explore video demos of some of these maps, due to security interactive versions of our maps are not publicly available.
